All About Bipolar: No more scary movies!

Things that didn’t bother me before now have a profound effect. I have figured out that horror movies are something I should avoid. It’s not that I particularly like these types of movies but my husband and kids do. I had never been a fan of horror but I learned to tolerate them for their sake. I can’t do it anymore.

Sunday night the boys were playing video games. When they were done, they caught the end of Saw IV on one of the movie channels and decided to watch it. Now I only watched a very small bit of it because I kept turning away from the television. That night, I didn’t sleep at all. It was the exact same thing that happened when I watched The Eye. I watched the numbers flip on the clock until the sun came up.

It wasn’t that I was scared. I think the images just get in my head and my brain can’t shut off after that. Let me tell you, it’s really hard to edit a 13 page construction plan and write a one page summary on less than an hour of sleep. Thank goodness I don’t have any projects today. I got a little more sleep last night but I still didn’t sleep that much.

That confirms it for me. It has to be the movies. I have slept well ever since the last movie incident and I haven’t changed medications or anything else. Martin, I think I am taking your advice and sticking to Disney movies.
