The kids are out of school for the summer and I have to adjust to the change. No more quiet time for me. So now that I have no time to relax and unwind, how in the world am I going to get some down time? It’s going to be a long summer.
The dogs aren’t used to them being home during the day time either. They normally lie around and nap until the kids get home. It has thrown their schedule off and now everyone is all riled up. This will certainly take some getting used to again.
It has also thrown off my work schedule. I used to try to get things done early in the morning after putting them on the bus. That’s not happening anymore. I’m getting started around noon now. I have to work out a new schedule and we will all have to get used to it. The hardest part is getting the kids to understand that they can’t sit up under me on the days that I have projects to complete. I work on deadlines so things have to get done in a timely manner. Hopefully, it will only take a week or so to get everyone adjusted. I had a project yesterday and it took more than twice as long as usual.
Oh well. It’s something we do every summer. It’s just a matter of enduring the initial adjustment period. Soon my oldest daughter will start attending band camp on a daily basis and running her back and forth will throw us out of schedule again. Change isn’t one of my strong points.
Anyway, have a great day!
