No Kidding? Me Too! is an organization dedicated to removing the stigma associated with mental illness. Comprised of people in the entertainment industry, NKM2 was founded by Joe Pantoliano, who was a cast member in the award winning HBO series, The Sopranos.
I have always felt that if celebrities would lend their voice to the fight to reduce stigma that it would be of great assistance. Joe Pantoliano, and many others, are doing just that.

Pantoliano states:
We are mad as hell, and we’re not going to take this anymore!! Please join us as we educate souls everywhere to “REMOVE THE STIGMA!”

The Goal
Make Brain Dis-ease cool and sexy. We want a normal conversation in America to be:
“I have bipolar disorder/schizophrenia/insert dis-ease”
“No Kidding, Me Too!”

The main goal of NKM2 is to generate a greater understanding of mental illness by educating others. Celebrity endorsements will certainly make this an easier feat to accomplish.
I firmly believe that education is the only way to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. Most people simply don’t understand mental illness and people fear what they don’t understand. This fear translates to ridicule and this is where stigma enters the picture.
If you support Joe Pantoliano in his efforts, please stop by the NKM2 website at http://www.nkm2.org/ and let him know that his work to reduce the stigma is appreciated.
