All About Bipolar: A long week

It has been a long week. This is the second week of my daughter’s band camp and we have a potluck dinner tonight. It gives them time to reveal their field show to the parents. I don’t like being in public and being surrounded by tons of strangers makes it much worse. I am not looking forward to it at all.

It has been raining every day this week and I have been negotiating with almost a dozen car dealerships. I’m not exaggerating and it’s exasperating. It seems the dealers have stopped advertising sales prices and they expect you to pay sticker price. Who pays sticker price? Not me. I think the dealers are trying to inflate the prices and many of them are saying, “Well with the CARS rebate, it would be this price.” The CARS rebate is intended to be used on top of dealer incentives and sale prices, not in place of.

Some of these dealers keep trying to push a price down my throat. I keep telling them that I’m not interested unless they can come down to the amount I tell them. They keep trying to tell me they can’t go any lower than the sticker price. Bullsh*t. One particular dealer had a new 2007 Pontiac G6. It had never been titled and I expected that I would get a great deal because of its age. I looked up the value on NADA and quoted it to them after I asked about the car. They wouldn’t budge off the price and wanted as much as they did for the 2009. Are ya kidding me? That car will keep sitting on that lot until it is worthless if they don’t knock a substantial amount off the price. Nobody is going to buy a 2007 for the same price as a 2009.

Anyway, I need to get back to haggling with the dealers. Several of them are emailing me this morning and they all want me to call them. No way. I’m not being subjected to their high pressure sales tactics. I can get a better deal this way because I don’t have to listen to them. They have to listen to me. I like having the upper hand. I will probably end up posting a humor post later on today since this post is totally off topic and is probably not very interesting.

Have a great day!
